Henry and the Sculpture Garden

Henry's favorite lunch spot is Cafe Express, but not any old Cafe Express will do. His fave? The Cafe Express at the MFAH, of course! He likes to eat lunch and look at art. Today, we were at his school for conferences and he requested lunch at the art museum. We took a quick walk through the museum after lunch and then, because it was such a beautiful day, we strolled through the Cullen Sculpture Garden. Henry loved the sculptures!
Henry thought this sculpture looked like a 7 and I thought it was an upside down V. It's really called Gymnast II. Henry loved this one. There is so much going on! One of two pieces titled New Forms
Alexander Calder's The Crab. (Do you remember when we saw Calder's Red Horse in DC?) This Pilgrim confused Henry because he's learning about Pilgrims at school and this is not your Thanksgiving Pilgrim!
Our favorite sculpture was Untitled but both Henry I thought it should be called The Running Man. Henry demonstrated his running skills on the hill behind this guy.
I love that my boys love the art museum and that it's 5 minutes from our house, so we can pop in whenever we want...even if it's "just" for lunch at Cafe Express.
