Halloween

The boys were so excited about Halloween this year! We started off the day with a Halloween party and parade at Henry's school. Henry chose to be a parrot again this year. I had a super cute parrot on the loose!Henry showed me his flying wings.
Everyone came to school in costume, even Henry's teachers!Another mom and I were in charge of the Halloween party this year. We did a bat craft and Henry helped get everything set up.
He waited so patiently for our turn with the scissors.
This is what they ended up looking like. Then the kids were off to parade around the school while we set up the snacks.
Since the party was at 9am and Henry's school is a no-candy zone, we opted for healthy treats: fruit, juice, and edible jack-o'-lanterns (toasted English muffins with orange cream cheese and raisins to decorate). It was a yummy snack and a fun way to start celebrating Halloween! When Gene got home last night, I put him to work nailing holes into two of our pumpkins and stuffing them with lollipops so we could all go trick-or-treating. The boys were so ready to hit the streets! Henry was still a parrot. At the last minute, Will decided to be an astronaut. My two cuties. And then they were OFF!This was our first year trick-or-treating in the new neighborhood and it was awesome! We saw friends and neighbors and the boys scored tons of chocolate, which made them extremely happy. They even willingly shared their chocolate goodies with their chocolate-loving mama. Happy Halloween, indeed!
