After being stuck inside all day Saturday because of the big rainstorms that swept through Houston, we needed to get out of the house with our stir-crazy boys on Sunday. We chose to go down to Alvin to Bayou Wildlife Park.
But first, we had to stop for lunch. I was in the mood for barbeque and there was a Spring Creek Barbeque place right on the freeway. The barbeque was yummy and they brought us complimentary ice cream!
Once we got to Bayou Wildlife Park, we hopped on a tram. The boys was so excited to ride around the park, but we had to bundle up. It was COLD!
The animals came right up to the tram to eat out of our buckets.
We saw so many animals: an antelope (oryx, maybe?),
emus,
ostriches (they are messy eaters!),
zebras,
camels,
and an ankole bull (I think). Our tour guide warned us to watch out for his horns and 5 seconds later he was whacking them into the side of the tram!

After our tram ride, we found the petting zoo.

We ended our visit with a couple of pony rides for the boys.
It was a chilly day but it was fun to get up close and personal with a bunch of exotic animals!
