An Afternoon in Kingwood

After Will's final soccer game of the season yesterday morning, we headed up to Kingwood for the afternoon. Grampa found an old set of Lincoln logs and showed Will how to build with them. Will loves to build, so he was enthralled!

Three proud builders with their very first log cabin.

After figuring out the Lincoln logs, Will went to town creating his own set of buildings for the dub-dubs (little people). You can tell he did this one all by himself!

Later, Will decided he wanted to write and sat down, on his own, to do a review of the big topics he's covered so far in Kindergarten. He filled up 8 half-sheets of paper with facts about bats, American symbols, parts of a book, and extreme weather and included pictures for each! His teacher told me he loves to write and it's true.
Henry watched Will write for a few minutes and then he decided that Grampa should take him across the street to the park. They played and went on a long walk on the trail before needing a snack.

When Will finished his writing, we joined them at the park and I practiced taking more pictures.
When the little people got sick of my camera,

I took pictures of trees, leaves and pinecones instead. And then it was time to pack up and head back into town for a quiet evening at home.

Thanks for the lovely lunch and relaxing afternoon, Gramma and Grampa. All four of us enjoyed it!
