The Letter U

The letter U is for umbrella and underground and underwater. We spent two weeks on the letter U. We've been busy and just didn't get our crafts done in one week!

The boys loved going to the Aquarium and seeing all the underwater creatures. This sunken treasure was a huge hit with my pirate-loving crew! The boys loved this little tunnel. The bat rays swam right above them! Henry pretended he was underwater. The boys weren't scared of this big tiger at all. Will got a new compass and he LOVES it! Henry and I rode the train ride at the Aquarium. We saw sharks swimming all around us!

At home, the boys made their lowercase u into an underground tunnel and we read Up Above and Down Below by Sue Redding. Do you see Will peeking through the tall grass? We also made our capital U into an umbrella and read Raindrop Plop by Wendy Cheyette Lewison. We had a great time learning about the letter U!
