A Long Week

It's always hard when Gene travels (19 days this month) but this week was especially long. Henry got sick Wednesday night with a stomach bug. We were both up a lot that night and then Thursday morning he woke up with intense ear pain. I took him right to the pediatrician, where he promptly fell asleep on the floor of the examining room. So tired. He was diagnosed with an ear infection plus a blister inside his ear and slept for most of Thursday.
By Friday, Henry was feeling back-to-normal, but I kept him home from school anyway. We made zucchini breadand ate it with honeycrisp apples and mulled apple cider.
Henry colored and painted
and worked so hard to finish the Pre-K Hooked on Phonics. We broke out our new fall clothes (yay for blue rocket shirts!)
and enjoyed the first truly chilly day of the fall by running and exploring in the backyard with Will after school. It was a long week, and we are glad it's over. Now we're looking forward to enjoying this beautiful fall weather, having healthy kids and welcoming Daddy home.
