Soccer Tots

One of Will's favorite activities this fall is his SoccerTots class. He looks forward to it every Wednesday. He is really good in class. He listens to all of Coach Nicki's instructions and does exactly what she asks him to and he is getting really good at all the activities! Every class starts with some warm-up stretches.
And then they practice rolling the ball with their feet and "walking like a duck" with the ball, which is really dribbling the ball down to the goal. There is lots of running and racing too. In this shot, Coach Nicki is telling them that they're going to sprint down to the far wall.
They run through obstacle courses and play games like Red Light, Green Light that help them with both their listening and soccer skills. One of Will's favorite games is Good Monkey, Messy Monkey. They start by setting out all the cones.
Then they get to be the messy monkeys who run through the cones and kick them all down. This is everyone's favorite part.
The skill is learning to tip the cone back up using only your foot. It was hard for Will at first but now he is a pro.
You can see that Will is concentrating hard here! After the game is over, the kids gather up the cones and stack them on Coach Nicki's head. I'm so glad I signed Will up for SoccerTots this fall. It has helped him with his balance and coordination and, best of all, he loves it!
