Pumpkin Patch

We took the boys to the Pumpkin Patch at the Old Time Christmas Tree Farm in Spring yesterday. It has become a family tradition. This was our third year to visit and it's always fun. There are always piles and piles of pumpkins to climb on.
The boys' favorite activity was the big obstacle course with slide. They went through it six times and would have kept going!
The line for the train was very very long, so we opted for the hayride instead this year. We had to call it the "hayride choochoo" to appease Henry. It worked.
Waiting for the hayride.
We even got a shot of the four of us up on the hayride!
This is what we saw as we rode around the farm. We're definitely heading back in December to cut down our tree this year!
We left with a wagon full of pumpkins - some to carve and decorate and some to bake and make into pies or muffins. Mmmmm. Last year, we opted to not eat at the farm and instead stumbled upon a great barbeque place called Valley Ranch. It is the perfect place for kiddos. The food is really yummy and it's a very kid-friendly restaurant. They have a small area with some toys and chalkboards. Will writes his name all the time now and had to demonstrate.
This train travels around the entire restaurant. Of course, the boys loved it!
Did I mention that the food is delicious too?
Messy ribs for Henry. And this is his chocolate face after eating part of a brownie.
Will liked the food so much that he had to stand up to see who was cooking in the kitchen.

We've only been to this restaurant once, a year ago, but Will actually remembered it. Clearly, it made a big impression!
It was the perfect family outing for a beautiful fall day!
