It's no secret that we like most bugs at our house, so it's pretty cool to find neat insects in the backyard. We have an antique rose bush that moved with us from our first house, and along with it came some purple flowers that both hummingbirds and butterflies like. I snapped this shot of a monarch-like butterfly the other day.
This morning, as we were getting ready to go on a walk, I spied this bug on our outside window. 
I didn't even know that we had praying mantises in Houston!
The boys were pretty interested in seeing it.
Will had to take a picture too.
Then it was on for our walk, after pumping up the tires in the BOB.
On our walk, we spied lots of spiders as part of our neighborhood's Halloween decor, but no more real creepy-crawlies. I have no doubt we'll see more soon, though. Bugs just seem to find their way to us!
