Fun at the Farm

We decided to hold Henry's second birthday party at Old MacDonald Farm. It seemed perfect: farm animals to feed and pet, ponies to ride, a playground, and, best of all, a TRAIN! I even found this adorable shirt on Etsy, and it's just perfect for a farm party. Henry loves to point to the cow and say, "Moo Moo! I'm 2!"

What more could a two-year-old and his little friends ask for? Well, it turns out you need nice weather for an outdoor party, and the forecast for last Saturday called for thunderstorms, lots of rain, and bitter cold temps. So, after freaking out just a wee bit, I decided to hold Henry's farm party at our house instead, but we did invite our friends to join us at the farm on Friday. Only a couple of little friends took us up on our offer, but everyone had so much fun, and the weather was gorgeous!

Beckett and Henry were born just two days apart and they ended up celebrating their birthdays together all weekend long. How lucky are they?

After a quick snack, the boys and their friends were ready to explore the farm.

Will loved feeding the animals. Henry preferred to watch from a safe distance.

He really wasn't too sure about these sheep:

Will loved riding the pony, but Henry would not get on it for anything!
In fact, Henry wasn't too sure about anything but the train. Every time he heard the whistle, he stopped whatever he was doing, looked up, and said, "Choo Choo!" He couldn't wait get on it and ride around the park!
Henry also loved seeing the peacocks. They were everywhere, including resting on the picnic tables in our pavilion.
Isn't this one gorgeous?

So, in the end, we had a great time celebrating Henry's second birthday.

After all, who would say no to two parties?
