Christmas Morning at Home

We always spend Christmas morning at home. The boys never get out of bed until they hear Santa's sleigh bells and a hearty "HO HO HO" (though this year Henry came into our room at 4 a.m. convinced he was going to miss hearing the bells!). Then it's a huge rush downstairs to make sure the big guy actually came. He always leaves a note for the boys.

We open stockings first.

The boys get new CDs every year, and Santa really knows them well. Henry got a new Okee Dokee Brothers CD and Will got the new Verve Pipe family album.

Gene got video game socks and Tabasco. I got chocolate truffles.

Then we moved onto the gifts under the tree. Henry was most excited by this crayon tower -- 150 crayons in all!

Gene got a new mousepad.

Gifts from my favorite boys included a rainbow loom bracelet from Will, a drawing from Henry, and a new necklace from all three. I also got a new camera lens and new camera bag from my sweetie.

Gene is so easy to shop for. This year was a King Arthur Christmas for him. He got a bunch of specialty flours and new baking equipment!

This little boy is easy to please too. Junie B. books plus new balloons = one happy Henry.

Both boys got Hexbugs and Despicable Me 2.

Will got a stack of books and logic puzzles. The Gordian Knot has us all stumped!

Here's our tree mid-way through present-opening.

Potholders with the boys' artwork for Gene.

And the last present was an ode to A Christmas Story. The boys wanted guns (marshmallow, Nerf, anything) for Christmas but I said no. ("You'll shoot your eye out!" plus I am just not a fan of guns!) Turns out Santa doesn't quite agree with me and the boys found two pop guns behind the sofa. (If you don't know the movie, you have to watch it!) The only thing I can say is at least these guns don't shoot anything and Santa left the boys a note saying they could only play with the pop guns with their dad!

All in all, it was a fabulous beginning to our Christmas day!
