Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was busy for us this year. We started the day with Christmas Eve brunch at our house with my favorite girlfriends and their husbands. Gene set a beautiful table with all our china, crystal and silver,

and baked a ton, including baps,

orange-cranberry scones, and stollen, plus bacon. I was only in charge of the eggs!

The gals: Leigh, Heather, Katy and me.

The guys: Jaime, Gene, Joel and Tyler.

We don't see Leigh and Tyler nearly enough since they live in Seattle!

We enjoyed our Christmas Eve brunch so much we are thinking we need to make it a new tradition! These friends truly are the best.

The rest of the afternoon revolved around making poor Weezie wear reindeer antlers.

She was not impressed!

We also tracked Santa on Norad.

Santa has a jet fighter escort!

Someone was so excited for Santa to come!

And then it was off to church and then to Nana and Pop's for our codfish dinner.

Nana made bilharacos (butternut squash donuts).

And we found more reindeer antlers.

We snapped a few pictures by the tree.

Back at home, the boys sprinkled reindeer food on the front lawn

and we set out cookies and milk for Santa.

We had time for one quick story, The Night Before Christmas,

before snuggling deep into cozy beds!
