Sugar Land

I took the boys to Sugar Land today. It's only about a 20-25 minute drive from our house and we had a purpose: we had to visit the satellite science museum down there! I've been wanting to take the boys for awhile, just to change things up a bit, and it was well worth the drive! The Houston Museum of Natural Science's Sugar Land campus is located in an old prison building, and it is a great conversion. Right now, they actually have more dinosaurs on display than the main location! The boys' favorite part was the Dinosaur Dig Pit at the front of the museum. Super fun! This was actually Will's second time in a dig pit. His first was at the Chicago Children's Museum, just before he turned 2! Here's a look back at that first visit:
Besides digging for dinosaurs, we learned a ton of new dino facts from one of the employees, saw a show in their planetarium, touched a T-Rex tooth and a tiny piece of Mars, did some hands-on experiments, and saw lots and lots of frogs, like this little guy who was hanging out on the glass. We even made time for snacks (of course!). The Houston Museum of Science in Sugar Land was a ton of fun and I'm sure we'll go back for another visit soon!
