Let's Pretend!

Every morning, Will wakes up and says, "Today we're going to be" fire ants or anteaters or cats. Yesterday, he decided we were going to be astronauts. So after breakfast, the boys had to don their astronaut costumes, of course! Then Will wanted to fill his pockets with supplies. That proved to be a bit of a challenge because the pockets are rather small. I suggested he bring some treasure in case he wanted to buy ice cream from an alien, but he just laughed at me. "Treasure isn't real, Mommy!" he informed me. (But I guess you might really try to buy ice cream from an alien!?)
Finally we settled on bringing some cotton swabs. They fit perfectly in his pocket and I told him he could collect samples from the moon and examine them under a microscope. But then he really wanted to collect real samples, so I grabbed my makeup and let the boys collect away!

The serious scientist

After the mission to the moon, the scientists took their moon rock samples back to the science center to put them on display for all to see!Don't worry, though. Our trip to the moon wasn't all work. After collecting our samples, Will grabbed the ukulele and Henry snared a drum and the boys rocked out on the moon. The CD of the hour? Recess Monkey's The Final Funktier, of course! All you need is... an imagination!
