The Weekend

Our weekend was full of soccer, hiking at the Arboretum, pizza, visiting our newest family member and dealing with a leaking water heater.

Henry's soccer game was canceled due to soggy fields, but Will played on an absolutely perfect Saturday morning.

The boys had nature class at the Arboretum on Saturday afternoon but Will chose to stay home, which is a bummer because he would have loved it! The class was all about owls.

The kids got owl masks for their nature hike. We had to use our owl eyes to search out prey.

And then the coolest part was dissecting owl pellets (owl hairballs). Henry found three rodent skulls as well as hip bones, leg bones and more in his pellet!

After class, Henry played at the playground and then we hiked while he let me snap numerous pictures of him and our surroundings. I love that this little boy is always willing to let me take his picture!

Saturday ended with pizza. Mmmmmm!

Sunday was decidedly less fun, as we woke up to the sound of water bubbling in the ceiling due to a leaking water heater in the attic. Fortunately, we caught the leak early enough that the damage is contained to the ceiling and it is all fixable. The highlight of our day was definitely meeting our newest nephew, baby David. What a cutie!

The new week is off to a busy start, with a house full of workmen repairing damage, but we are looking ahead to another beautiful fall weekend and the chance to get outside to during my favorite season.
