The End of the School Year and Fifth Grade Grauation

Last week was bittersweet for our family. After eight years at West University Elementary School, we no longer have an elementary student at our house!  Though we had some ups and downs, we loved going to our neighborhood school and we all made wonderful friends. It will be weird not to walk into this place day after day next year!

Though we're sad to leave WUES behind, we're looking forward to our new adventures next year.  Henry is going to Kinkaid, along with four classmates (all boys) and is so excited for this next chapter!

The last week of school was full of fun activities.  We held a mini celebration for Henry's sweet teacher, so is getting married next year.

The entire fifth grade went to see Aladdin at the movie theater, and then celebrated with a party out the Southside Place Clubhouse.

On Henry's last day of school, we said goodbye to our librarian, Ms. Simmons, and his kinder teacher, Ms. Lox (now Ms. Erwin).

And then, before we knew it, it was time for Henry's graduation ceremony.

We couldn't be more proud of this kid!

Henry spent part of the afternoon at the fifth grade pool party and then it was back home for our annual "Welcome to Summer" celebration!

This year, we had Crave cupcakes, stacks of books, and root beer floats!

That's a wrap, WUES! Summer is here and we couldn't be more excited -- and we're all looking forward to our new adventures in the fall.
