Toothless Wonder

Will lost his first tooth yesterday! It seems that we hang on to our teeth for quite a while in our household.

On Sunday night, Will's tooth was so wobbly that he could push it out at all kinds of weird angles, so we knew it was coming out soon. Yesterday morning, he dressed purposely in shorts with pockets in case his tooth came out and he needed to keep it safe at school.

Well, the tooth came out yesterday, just like we expected. But it turns out he didn't need the pockets because he accidentally swallowed it while eating a gingerbread man for a friend's birthday celebration! Oops!

Will's friends assured him that the Tooth Fairy would still visit even if he didn't have a tooth to give her. But, to be on the safe side, he wrote a note anyway. This is what is said:

We attached a lock of hair to the bottom of the letter, and Henry helped by writing Will's name (backwards) on the bottom of the page. At bedtime, we carefully tucked the letter with the lock of hair under Will's pillow.

And this morning, Will found a shiny $1 coin along with an official receipt from the Tooth Fairy. His letter and hair were gone.

The Tooth Fairy even left a note for him on the back of his receipt.

Will's other bottom tooth is loose, so I imagine the Tooth Fairy will indeed be visiting again very soon!
