Summer Break: Week Five

During our fifth week of summer break, we mostly stayed close to home. To beat the heat, we've been enjoying many mornings and afternoons at the pool. Usually we visit the neighborhood pool, but last weekend we headed up to Mike and Jess's house for some time with the family and to swim in their beautiful pool.

Ruby was invited too and had the best time running and exploring their yard, and trying to catch water!

Cousin time is the best!

Other than pool time, the week was full of errands. Here's a quick peek of some of what we did.

Taking Weezie to the vet is a family outing.

Speaking of Weezie, she turned 15 years old on Friday! We celebrated with tuna.

We read A Fine Dessert by Emily Jenkins,

and then made blackberry fool. YUM!

Will also requested an outdoor adventure with Ruby, so we took her to the Houston Arboretum for the first time. She loved exploring with us and we look forward to future outdoor outings with her, especially when the temps are cooler.

I hope your summer has been full of family fun, outdoor adventures, and good food!
