Lately: Colorlicious, Piano, Cub Scouts and Valentine's Day

Things have been hopping around our house lately! Here's a quick peek into what we've been doing during the week:

A couple of weeks ago, Henry came home with his second big kindergarten project of the year. He was assigned the color orange and had to decorate a paper doll in orange, write about his orange world and dress from head to toe in orange.

Working on his orange masterpiece:

He wrote: In my orange world, everything is orange, even the trees and the sky. The only sport is basketball. People eat oranges, carrots, pumpkin pie, candy corn and orange peppers. Halloween is the favorite holiday in my orange world.

Head-to-toe orange!

Will is keeping busy with Cub Scouts and received three belt loops at his last Cub Scout Pack meeting.

And Henry has switched from violin to piano.

It was a hard decision but in the end it has worked out brilliantly for Henry. Violin was a struggle, and we didn't make much progress after 10 months of lessons. Piano is perfect for him, though. He loves to practice and runs to the piano every chance he gets! Henry is currently taking super short lessons tacked onto Will's because of scheduling issues, but he is teaching himself and absolutely loves it.  Hopefully he'll be in "real" lessons sooner rather than later.

We had to make Valentines and boxes for school. Henry decorated his simply with lots of hearts.

We passed out Minecraft Valentines this year. I found this printable online. It was so easy and the boys loved it. The creeper is a wrapped mini-Hershey's bar.

Valentine's Day breakfast: free form heart-shaped pancakes!

Plus strawberries because they're the perfect Valentine fruit.

The boys had Valentine's Day parties at school and I was able to attend and snap pictures of both classes' festivities.

On Valentine's night, the four of us headed to the science museum for a members' preview of the Magna Carta exhibit. It may not have been the most romantic way to spend the day, but I wouldn't have changed a thing. I love being with these three!

We enjoyed bangers and mash, crafts, and some sword-fighting, but we didn't get to see the exhibit! Our exhibit tickets were for 7:30 but when we got in line, we realized that it was not moving at all and decided to head home and come back another time.

Henry's calligraphy bookmark from the museum:

As always, we are keeping busy and having loads of fun!
