Lately: Birds, Books, and Bikes

Here's a peek into what's been going on around here lately:

This is what happens when you go to bed late and wake up before 6 a.m. and then get stuck in a massive traffic jam in Bellaire due to a wreck on the freeway that took 14 hours to clear!

This is what happens when a relay on your car breaks, which means the fan won't turn off, which means the battery dies. Thank goodness we were able to borrow Gramma and Grampa's car for a few days!

This is what you get when you read, read, read! Will was the only one in his class to receive the 100 point AR medal. We are so proud of him! (His final tally for the year was 127.8!).

My little reader is obsessed with Harry Potter. He has read books 3 and 4 in the past week and just started on book 5!

We went bike riding in Kingwood this weekend. The boys rode the trails and practiced a lot!

Another goose egg on the forehead for Will.

We had lunch at Tin Roof BBQ in Atascocita. It's still our favorite barbeque place in Houston. Too bad it's such a drive!

And finally, here is the newest resident in our neighborhood. This hawk has been hanging out around here for the past week or so. We hear him a lot (he sounds like a squeaky door that needs some WD-40) but we see him most days too. He is beautiful, even if though I am sure he is terrorizing the song birds nearby. Today, the boys and I watched as a blue jay chased him out of the tree in our front yard!

So far, the first few days of summer have been great!
