On Sunday, Will decided that Father's Day meant that Daddy should do whatever his boys wanted. And since Will has been really interested in machines lately, he and Gene looked at all kinds of Rube Goldberg machines on YouTube and then decided to build one of their own. According to Will, that's exactly what Daddy wanted to do on Father's Day!So happy to be building machines with Daddy on Father's Day! This is their masterpiece. Can you see the little yellow car zooming down the ramp?
It knocked into the orange ball which sped down the stick road and knocked into the blocks. Then the blocks hit the swing which knocked the blue ball down another ramp. The green piece needed a little nudge. The last ball slid down the slide and hit the drum! SO FUN!!Do you think Will knows how cool his Daddy is?
After all the machine-building, Nana and Pop came over in the afternoon to celebrate with us too. We grilled out, of course! Here they are pointing to the dads. Our dinner: grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and veggies plus roasted potato salad and a green salad. Yum-o!
And I took this picture of Gene holding a ladle is because Henry grabbed the ladle the other day for his cereal and I told him to put it back. He agreed because "ladles are for daddies!"
We had a fantastic Father's Day celebrating with two of our favorite dads (and at least getting to talk on the phone to my fantastic dad!). I hope your Father's Day was as special as ours was!
