Halloween was almost rained out this year, but the skies turned blue and the sun came out from behind the clouds just a few hours before the trick-or-treaters flooded the streets.
I think this Halloween was our most fun yet. We started the evening by heading down our street to a Halloween bash at a friend's house. Here are my dragon and Harry Potter with fresh faces. Just wait til you see what our friend's face painter accomplished!
Fierce dragon, nonchalant Harry.
Wizard spells on the paparazzi (my "costume" every year!).
You know Gene always dresses up for Halloween!
Off to the Halloween bash!
We had to inspect the decorations at the end of our street.
And our first stop at the party was face painting.
Will got Harry Potter glasses and a lightning scar.
Love this little wizard!
Henry requested a scary dragon face.
Amazing, no?
The rest of the party was full of good food, laughs with neighbors and friends from school, and lots of running around for the kiddos. We are so incredibly lucky to live in this neighborhood where we see friends at every turn and everyone watches out for everyone else's kids. At this point in our lives, I truly can't imagine living anywhere else!
As soon as the sun started setting, the boys informed us that it was time to head out trick-or-treating. Will and his buddy Nicholas decided that we should trick-or-treat together, so we headed down the street in one big group.
Our street really gets into the Halloween spirit with smoke, props, and costumes galore.
Trick-or-treating doesn't take us very long. We basically go down our street, fill up our sacks until they feel too heavy, and then call it a night. Back home, the boys passed out our remaining candy and I snapped a few more pictures.
Happy Halloween from my spooky wizards and scary dragon!
