Spring break is busy for us this year. Aunt Amber and her crew arrived from Vermont last night and we have lots of plans with them, AND Henry's 5th birthday party is coming up next weekend! Yesterday was supposed to be a quiet day at home to get stuff done, but of course it was busy. I went grocery shopping while my little boys got cute haircuts. Then Nana stopped by with an early birthday gift for Henry. Thanks, Nana!
I bought a whole chicken at the store because Gene has wanted to roast his own for ages. Oh my goodness, this was one delicious bird! Henry is our little chef, and he was fascinated by the process. Gene made it early in the day and we brought it out for dinner along with wilted spinach and roasted cauliflower from our CSA box and some toasted naan. Delish!
Henry had been asking to make this recipe for a Watermelon-Raspberry Slush from his Highlights High Five magazine all week. We finally prepped it all and popped it in the freezer and then promptly forgot about it! Maybe we can taste it today.
In between all the cooking and grocery shopping, we did more cleaning, played Zingo and Chinese checkers, and Will and Daddy learned some new magic tricks, which have me completely stumped. In the late afternoon, we headed to Main Street Theater to see Miss Nelson is Missing. I love all the productions at MST but I think this was one of the best!
We had a fun Saturday and are looking forward to more fun this week!
