We took the boys to their very first Astros game on Saturday afternoon! It was the perfect day, with beautiful, dry weather in Houston and a 3:05 start time.
Will was really excited to watch the Astros play. Henry wore his home run t-shirt, but he deemed the crowd "too loud!"We sat in the cheap seats ($7 adult tickets and $1 for the kids is the way to go!). These are the views from way up high. We made it through a total of 1 1/2 innings in our seats before the boys got restless. To be fair, it was a long 1 1/2 innings and the Astros actually scored four runs and we saw every Astro up at bat! Go 'Stros!
Then it was time to find the kids' area at the ballpark. If you haven't been before, there is a huge indoor playground area complete with tunnels and slides. The boys stayed close together and had a blast climbing all around. Then they got to run to a base just like real ball players. We stayed at the park til the seventh-inning stretch and then the boys were melting down and it was time to head home. Our second-ever baseball game (the first was a Nationals game in DC) was a big success and we are looking forward to taking our boys out to the ball game again. Oh, and the Astros even won, 7-3!
