I'm not sure where October went, but fall is flying by (though it still feels like late summer here in Houston!). Here's a peek at what we've been up to lately:
Boo Bash Carnival at West U Elementary
Fathers and Flashlights campout on the field behind the school
S'mores + headlamp
Will loved visiting Creamistry, the ice cream parlor where they use liquid nitrogen to make ice cream, so we had to go back with Henry! What a fun concept -- and the ice cream is delicious!
More science in the kitchen: Henry had to make a recipe for school using the metric system. He chose to make savory cheese scones, which were yummy!
Astros Day at school during spirit week
Book club for Mom = boys' night out for the rest of the family
We had one cold front come through and it was chilly enough to turn on the fire place.
Some prairie photos from the pocket prairie in the medical center, where I took Katy and Jaime's family photos this year.
And finally, Halloween!! I was sick for nearly two weeks with sinusitis, so we never got around to carving jack-o'-lanterns. We did manage to make our annual Halloween dinner -- jack-o'-lantern quesadillas with Bloody Mary soup.
And then the boys were off, trick-or-treating as scary aliens
in the misty rain.
Gene took this photo with a flash, and the light went right through Henry's mask, so you can see his face. Kind of spooky!
I hope your October was full of delightful treats!
