We celebrated Gene's birthday for the fourth (and final!) time on Saturday with his whole family. This post is very picture-heavy for two reasons: 1) I am still very much a beginner and I practice a lot and 2) Gene kept asking me to take pictures! So below are some snapshots of Saturday's big birthday bash.
Aunt Jess's new baby boy is due in just two weeks! I love this shot because it seems like little Michael is contemplating the imminent arrival.
The boys wanted mocktails, so Pop made all the kids Shirley Temples.
The birthday boy!
Gene requested vinho alho (marinated fried halibut) for his birthday dinner and the boys couldn't resist doing some pre-tasting, as usual.
The real deal:
Gene made his homemade ciabatta. Yum-o!
It was a rainy, humid day but Henry was itching to get outside and run for a little bit. We didn't last long before the raindrops sent us scurrying back inside.
Practice, practice, practice: my assignments for photography class this week are all about depth of field.
Back inside, the big kids put candles on the cupcakes.
The evening ended with presents and champagne.
Happy birthday, Gene!
