Our weekends are always jam-packed and today was no exception. We started off at the zoo. I was hoping for one last cool morning, but it was back to our regular heat and humidity here in Houston. Fortunately, the boys didn't seem to mind too much.
The zookeeper was out at the lion enclosure and was trying to tempt the female lions into the water with a big leafy branch. They were certainly curious but not curious enough to venture into the water (apparently lions don't like to get wet). We heard the male lion roar several times. Super cool! And while we were at the zoo, we treated the boys to a showing of a Dora and Diego's 4-D Adventure: Catch that Robot Butterfly. We all wore our 3-D glasses and there were additional special effects like bubbles, vibrations and mist. It was pretty amazing! This afternoon we had two birthday parties to attend. One was for a new classmate of Will's at The Little Gym. He loved it. Between tumbling and playing with new friends and eating pizza and cupcakes, what's not to love? And I loved it because I got to chat with a bunch of the moms from Will's class.
Our friends Jim and Leslie also invited us over for a pool party/birthday party, so we headed over there immediately after the Little Gym party. Will's little friend Macy from the old neighborhood was there. These two cuties had so much fun playing together again! Henry was hungry but so was Jim and Leslie's dog. I watched the dog steal a french fry right off Henry's plate! Henry made sure to protect his cupcake though. I'm not sure you can tell from this picture, but there is one cool treehouse in the backyard! So fun. And we'll end with a shot of Will in a very stylish cap. It was a crazy-busy day! We are exhausted (except for Henry, who just doesn't really believe in being tired).
