Last night was National Night Out. Our neighborhood participates each year, and it's a good way to meet your neighbors and learn about how to prevent crime. There are always booths and safety activities planned. The highlights for the boys are the free Chick-Fil-A nuggets, cookies from local grocery stores, and of course the FIRE TRUCK!
We have a great local fire department. They come out to all the neighborhood events and the firefighters are just really awesome guys. I took the boys to the fire department over the summer and they gave us an impromptu tour of the truck and answered about a million questions from Will. You can see from the picture below that the boys were entranced.
That's because the firefighters brought the hook and ladder truck this time and we got to see the ladder raise way up into the air.
Henry was fascinated and kept pointing up. Fortunately his fear of firefighters does not extend to the fire truck itself!
Looking way way up...
It was pretty cool. The firefighters climbed to the top and shined the spotlight down on all of us. What a great way to end the night!
