Spring break was full and fun and exactly the break from the busy-ness of school that we all needed. We also lucked out with pretty spring weather for most of the break!
After our camping trip on Sunday and Monday, Gene was back at work on Tuesday, but the boys and I were out and about. We visited the Health Museum to see sheep brain and heart dissections! Both boys read before the dissections started.
Very cool! We learned all about the brain and the heart.
After a picnic lunch, we spent the rest of the day running errands, relaxing and heading out for an evening bike ride.
On Wednesday, we were back in the Museum District for lunch at the MFAH and a free showing of Looney Tunes in their theater. Gene even met us for lunch and the show. The boys love Looney Tunes!
After the show, we watched a weaving demonstration in the lobby.
We spent Thursday morning running and exploring at Hermann Park before watching the Walking with Dinosaurs IMAX movie at the science museum. The museum was packed for spring break but we were really just there for the movie, so the crowds didn't bother us too much.
We found a ladybug that was half red and half yellow.
Friday saw us back in the Museum District, where we parked the car and then rode the lightrail down to the Rodeo. Gene was supposed to be off but ended up having to work all day, so he missed the Rodeo fun.
When we got to the Rodeo, we explored Agventure. Henry was especially enamored of all the chicks.
We watched this one hatch!
We visited "Fun on the Farm" and watched some pig races before the carnival opened, and then the kids rode the rides. This was their favorite part, of course!
Spring break was a blast and we are already looking ahead to summer fun!
